Georgia, a country that is shrouded in mystery. The former Soviet Republic is sandwiched between the Caucasus Mountains to the north, the Black Sea to the west, and deserts to the south. The country borders Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey. Georgia is not only a crossroads of cultures but also has a wealth of spectacular landscapes. Until recently, most would have struggled to place the country of Georgia on the map (or at least mistake it for the U.S. state of the same name), but it’s emerging as a hot travel destination.

Here are the reasons to travel to Georgia country.

Georgia has one of the richest and most varied landscapes in Europe. From the lush forests of the Abkhazia region in the northwest to the slopes of the Caucasus Mountains, to the cool beaches of the Black Sea coast in the south, Georgian nature has something for everyone. The Black Sea coast is home to Georgia’s most popular holiday resorts. Tbilisi is an important historical capital that sits on the banks of the Mtkvari (Kura) River.
